As part of the Fête de la nature, organised by the town of Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire in partnership with the Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux.
Birds, butterflies, snakes, fish, game... Man lives surrounded by animals on a daily basis, even in the city. There are also bats, owls, which are more discreet because they come out at the same time as we go into our homes! So there they are, right in front of our eyes and within earshot; we live together, in other words we share the same space, sometimes without even noticing - an ecosystem, in short.
On closer inspection, they can also be found swarming around museum collections... If you look closely, you'll find them here and there on all sorts of objects, giving you the opportunity to make a Prévert inventory: A candlestick, a cello windchest, a cufflink, a baluster vase, a plate, a bearded dish, a perfume burner, a pewter dish, an engraving, a painting... Now put your ear to the ground and hear them chirping, whispering, clattering, crackling, screeching, hooting, whistling, growling, bellowing or wailing. Can you recognise them? This cacophony could turn our storerooms and halls, normally calm and hushed, into veritable menageries!
Let's face it, you could be in for some surprises, and the pleasure won't just be for your eyes, for once it's not usual at the museum!
