This exhibition is part of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of France, and draws on loans from many local residents, local associations and partner institutions.
The exhibition begins with the establishment of the Vichy regime in July 1940 and ends with the rapid liberation of Bresse in September 1944.
The daily lives of the local population were disrupted by the demarcation line that bordered Bresse, the Vichy regime's propaganda and the weight of the occupying forces. Resistance actions were organised underground, whether on a daily basis, anonymously, discreetly or spectacularly.
Come and discover this little-known period in the history of Bresse.
