For over fifteen years now, Armelle Dousset and Matthieu Metzger have been nurturing their unique duo, having spent a long time learning the ropes on the streets and at dances before moving on to theatres and festivals. Combining the accordion with that rare bird, the sopranino saxophone, Rhizottome reinvents traditional rhythms and melodies through the prism of mischievous improvisations, like an invitation to reconnect with one's roots, the better to play at getting rid of them. Full of verve and bursting with life, their music joyfully shakes up codes and references, irresistibly drawing us into its frenzied dances.
