Nivernais Canal Cycle Path

A taster of the Tour of Burgundy by bike

This exceptional, 180 km cycle route through the countryside (from Saint-Léger-des-Vignes to Auxerre) runs along Nivernais Canal towpath and some small country roads.

It is entirely devoted to pedestrians, cyclists and any form of transport on wheels, no motorised vehicles are permitted.

This route is perfect for a family bike ride, far from the strenuous mountain passes and dangerous descents, where you'll discover some incredible places and a number of works of art such as locks, stone bridges, drawbridges, and lock keeper's houses in a rural setting with varied species of trees and flowers.
