L'âme du papier

L'âme du papier is a craft company with the EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) label, an official French label issued under the authority of the Ministry of the Economy and Finance to distinguish French companies with craft and industrial skills deemed to be of excellence.

This workshop specialises in the conservation and restoration of works of art on paper, parchment and books, a speciality also known as graphic arts restoration.
This activity involves treating works on paper, parchment or books using a variety of graphic techniques (paintings, engravings, prints, manuscripts, pastels/charcoal, etc.), as well as their bindings (leather/paper/parchment covers and book blocks).

The workshop is equipped to deal with works of art in the most appropriate way at all times, and uses restoration materials that are rigorously selected to ensure that they stand up to the test of time. Malaurie Auliac works with both private collectors and public institutions (libraries, archives, historic monuments, museums, etc).
For her, good restoration can only be achieved with good materials and intelligent use of them.
