La Forge des Affranchis

La forge des Affranchis is a space created by artist Julien Rommel in Nannay, in the Nièvre region of France. Julien's artistic approach is intimately linked to his love of freedom.
This space, which he created seven years ago, is his standard, and his playground is not the urban environment but the countryside, which Julien wants to use as a ground for artistic expression.
"Neither Robot nor Slave". The world of robotics totally permeates Julien and his work.
Robots both fascinate and frighten him...

Sculptures and creations in metal from recycled materials, small and large formats.
He uses a variety of techniques, including forging, welding and steel cutting.
Julien also makes paintings, musical instruments and various objects linked to autonomy.
