The Merchant House is spacious, built in 1872, has been tastefully updated by the present owners. Here, you will find lovely interiors that are filled with English family antiques and draped hand-made curtains to compliment our country furniture. The 4 bedrooms are decorated with only the finest 'Laura Ashley' linen to keep you cool in the summer, with luxurious warm duvets to keep you warm in the winter. You will see fresh flowers from our garden throughout the house which fill the rooms with a Burgundian aroma of scents. During the winter, sit by the log fires and read your book with a café or chocolate chaude. The two acre garden has been planted with beautiful trees and borders and provides views of the village river valley, the village church and distant hills and forests. If you are looking for the perfect place to escape, relax and explore, you have found the right place. Guests are welcome to wander around the gardens, have a game of Pétanqe (Boules) on the pitch nestled under the shade of trees. Breakfasts are served in our dining room off the main kitchen where you can look out over the formal gardens and beyond to the Serein valley and the Morvan park. If you choose to have dinner on the night of your arrival, it will be served in the dining room (with log fires in winter). We offer a varied Menu including traditional Burgundian fayre and fresh Vegetables and fruit which are grown in our own potager, with dairy produce coming from the local farmers. Nothing is too much trouble for our guests.
