The Rocault family, who have lived in Orches since 1470, have always cultivated vines, as have Blandine and François, who represent the 17th generation.
Situated 13 km south-west of Beaune, Orches, a hamlet sheltered by the cliff, clings to the top of the hillside that plunges down to the Saône valley.
The altitude of 500 metres gives the houses a commanding position, with a wide view over the Burgundy vineyards, the Jura mountains and the Alps with Mont Blanc.
