Site Archéologique de Cora
The site of Cora was inhabited from the Neolithic period (more than 6,000 years ago). Then, it sheltered entrenched villages until the Roman conquest before becoming a fortified post on the Agrippa road linking Lyon to Boulogne-sur-Mer.
An impressive wall flanked by round towers, preceded by a wide ditch, blocks the only possible access to the 25-hectare plateau that makes up the fortification.
Three circuits on the site of the double meander of the Cure, between Saint-Moré and Arcy-sur-Cure allow the discovery of the prehistoric caves of Saint-Moré, the Camp of Cora, the quarry of Merovingian sarcophagi and the miraculous fountain of Saint-Moré.
