Getting to Burgundy

By the road

Burgundy is a very accessible destination thanks to the many motorways crossing through it, as well as the famous National roads 6 and 7. You can therefore easily get to this region from Paris, via the French department of Yonne and from Lyon or Marseille via the southern entrance into Burgundy, the Saône-et-Loire. If you are arriving from Luxembourg or the Grand Est region of France, take motorway A31 until you reach the famous town of Beaune, which can also be reached along motorway A36 from Germany, Mulhouse or Besançon.

By train

The French railway company SNCF provides some great links with the towns of Burgundy, from which you can then reach the main tourist attractions.

There are for example frequent and high-speed services between Paris and Dijon, with a dozen trains per day.

>> It will take 1hr40 to get from the Gare de Lyon in Paris to the train station in Dijon. It is therefore quite easy to get to other towns or countries such as Lille in the north of France, Belgium or Germany.

There is also a direct service from Switzerland, and you can get from Lausanne to Dijon in just 2 hours
