Located in Les Berthiers, in the commune of Saint-Andelain, the cellar of Domaine Dagueneau Serge et Filles is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 12pm and from 1.30pm to 5.30pm. If you would like to come and taste on a Saturday, please make an appointment a few days in advance.
As a general rule, it's always best to call ahead to find out if tasting is possible!
Once you've arrived, open your eyes wide and remember to look up... You'll discover a magnificent chandelier and lots of nods to the world of vines and wine!
Valérie Dagueneau produces Pouilly Fumé and Pouilly sur Loire (17 hectares) on the hillsides between Pouilly-sur-Loire and Saint-Andelain.
Not far from there, Valérie and her team also cultivate 2 hectares of vines on the Montées de Saint-Lay, producing attractive red, white and rosé Côtes de la Charité.
At the cellar, you can also discover a sweet late harvest cuvée, produced as a Vin de France.
Behind these wines lie four generations of passionate winemakers. In fact, if it's not Valérie welcoming you to the estate, it's probably because she's working in her vineyard.
For the record, it was grandmother Léontine who started the estate and planted the first 2 hectares.
Today, Valérie and her team want to return to 100% manual work, but it's not without its difficulties!
