Ameugny Church, with its understated Romanesque style is sure to surprise. The first thing you’ll notice about this 12th century church, situated just a few kilometres from Cluny, is its reddish-ochre hue. Before you go through the entrance gate, surmounted by a bell tower, look for the name of the man who built it – the only inscription of its kind in Burgundy: “Seguin, Malay stone mason.”
