The church was part of the archpriest of Rousset and had for annex Saint-Martin de Chérizet. From the 11th century, it was in the possession of Perrecy-les-forges and consecrated to Saint-Antoine. It has preserved from the Romanesque period its bell tower and the bay under the bell tower which forms the crossing of the transept, as well as a semi-circular apse, pierced by enlarged windows in modern times. The church was, in fact, profoundly altered, in 1820-1821: reconstruction of part of the church (nave and side chapels), demolition and reconstruction of the north sacristy, expansion of the south sacristy.
