Housed in the former 17th-century Saint-Pierre hospice, it is devoted to exhibitions related to gourmet food and the table in general. The former kitchen, which has preserved a Louis XV dresser, presents a collection of pewter and earthenware, including two Bernard Palissy dishes.
The theme of the 2023 exhibition is "Festive delicacies: From the galette des Rois to the thirteen desserts".
=> It's winter, the days are short, it's grey and cold, but the festive period brings its share of compensatory sweets
The kitchens are filled with the scent of spices and baking cakes. In many regions, Christmas and Epiphany have their own dedicated recipes. Bredele, gingerbread, kouglofs... so many delicacies that use specific moulds, cookie cutters and objects.
As for the santons, they are inseparable from the thirteen desserts. And the fava beans, so diverse that they are the joy of collectors, are nestled in the frangipane of the galettes des Rois.
On the occasion of its 2023 exhibition, the Maison régionale des Arts de la table is honouring these festive objects and publishing a fève.
