Palinges is part of the Ceramic Valley.
In the 19th century, Palinges had 6 ceramic industries at la Melchère (Bernard and Contant), la Motte (Diossin), la Pépinière (Dessertaine-Chotet), les Sauges (Simon-Musson), le Montet (Laujorrois- Ruaut-Pajot-Paissaud-Deyrieux-Bordelais) and le Fourneau (Chèze). A 7th industry was added at the beginning of the 20th century with the Badeaux site (Ducrot).
The museum houses a fine collection of ceramics dating from 1811 to the present day, including Terres Cuites de Bourgogne.
