Musée Mode et Costumes
Due to the renovation of the site, in preparation for the opening of the Cité des Présents, a cultural establishment bringing together the former museums of Château-Chinon, the Fashion and Costume Museum will be closed from 1 September 2019 until 2025.
The Buteau-Ravizy family mansion, which dates back to the 18th century, has been home to the Costume Museum since 1992, with over 5,000 items, most of which come from the Dardy collection acquired by the town of Château-Chinon.

Two museums transformed
Two museums created at the initiative of François Mitterand, the Septennat and Costume
museums, have merged to become the Cité des Présents, which will open in spring 2024.
An opportunity to see these collections again in an enriched, entirely reworked museum tour packed with innovations that should appeal to visitors.
