A history, a profession, a passion
Let us tell you the story of the development of the famous Charolais cow from 1800 to today. Originally from the Arconce valley in the Saône et Loire, these beautiful white cattle have adapted to the harsh soil of the region, making the present-day Morvan a breeding area. Throughout the permanent exhibition, you will follow the development of the "all Charolais" which marked the transition between food crops and the market economy, and marked the opening of the Morvan to trade, from the Po plains to Canada.
Come and discover the evolution of a passionate profession, that of the breeder-cattleman, who was able to raise the Charolais breed to an exceptional quality by adapting ancient know-how. This is a must for understanding a rural world in full evolution and the agricultural questions that arise for the future.
