The Jardin du Prieuré in La Ferté-Loupière is a private garden that has been open to the public since it was created in 1989. Located at the foot of the church of Saint Germain and its famous "Danse Macabre", it was designed by Jean Ravisé, its owner and former mayor of the commune, in reference to the history of the place, on the site since the end of the 12th century of the garden of the canons of the Prieuré du Mont aux malades de Rouen.
From the mandala vegetable garden to the romantic fishpond, it's a succession of different evocations, an invitation to dream and meditate. Fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants mingle along the lawned paths, changing with the seasons.
The garden is now looked after by volunteers from the "Le Jardin des Augustins" association, who are keen to share their love of gardens and pass on their gardener's know-how. A venue for artistic and cultural exhibitions, the garden also serves as an educational resource for horticultural schools and associations.
