Some of the decisive episodes of the Celtic era such as Julius Caesar's victory over Gaul, took place right here in Burgundy. The treasures of the princess of Vix, and the fortifications of Bibracte are proof of these fascinating historic events in our region. Added to that are the archaeological treasures found from other eras throughout history, from the dark ages and Prehistoric hunters, to the birth of Burgundy at the beginning of the Middle Ages.
