The Marchaux Tower, also known as the Clock Tower, located at number 30 of the small Marchaux street, dominates the district today. It was originally an ostentatious staircase tower that served the floors of a private mansion at the end of the Middle Ages belonging to the Clugny family in the 15th and 16th centuries. In 1793, it was topped with a dome and the clock was placed there from the upper gate of the Marchaux enclosure, destroyed a few years earlier.
