STOPOVER - LANDING STAGE. All visitors appreciate the charms of Scey-Sur-Saône: the city, which has retained its rural character; the undulating countryside and its extensive game-filled forests, where outdoors adventure activities are popular; the tracks and towpaths, which can be discovered on foot, by bike or on a horse; but the main attraction for visitors to enjoy is the Saône, which crosses this Petite Cité Comtoise de Caractère coupled with a canal that passes through a 681-meter long tunnel that is an unique curiosity. Near a launching ramp used by water-skiers and only 200 meters from a shopping mall, there is a river mooring, a campsite and a swimming pool complex on the bank of the Saône. Along the length of the canal is a marina, which is home to a company that rents canal cruisers (Locaboat). Around 50 boats can stop or stay at the port. A pedestrian walkway with a picnic area links this site to the banks of the Saône and the town center. In addition to its economic sector and full social scene, Scey-Sur-Saône has managed to maintain a harmony whilst developing characteristics that are sometimes opposites: the quality of life in the country and urban services, modern facilities and the richness of its heritage (tower house, Museum of history and dress, Saint-Martin’s church, washing troughs, fountains and crosses, the stables at Bauffremont’s château and numerous other remnants of their history within the city). Important events include: Easter market, flea market, Saint-Jean’s fire, Harley-Davidson rally and summer activities.
