The monument to the dead of Mailly-le-Château is composed of a stele made of Yonne stone surmounted by a bronze statue representing a small child wearing an Adrian helmet and holding a rooster in his hand. This monument, classified as a historical monument in September 2020, was inaugurated on 22 July 1923 - soon to be a century old - and is part of the series of child soldiers that the sculptor Max Blondat created from 1916 onwards.
