Remarkable civil building
Maison dite des Concurés (ancienne)
The turret and the mullioned windows of this corner house, where perhaps the priests who served the church lived, were classified as Historic Monuments in 1921. The house was restored around 1930.
The concurred, by virtue of a papal bull in 1482, lived in "community" within an association called "Mépart". They had to be natives of the village and to study. Then, the bishop of Chalon ordained them as priests, thus becoming concurred.
The corner of the rue du Commerce and the rue de l'Espérance is flanked by a watchtower which was put in place later, for purely decorative reasons.
