Since 2022, the Combattants Volontaires de la Résistance (CVR) of the Cluny-Mâcon-Chalon section have been working on a project to mark the old demarcation line, the border imposed by the enemy from 1940 to 1943.
The engraved posts are located at former German checkpoints. You can find out more about local history at the information desks.
The commune of Saint-Eusèbe was cut in two by the demarcation line. The official crossing point was at the German barrier at a place called "En Bourgogne". Clandestine crossings took place in the Étang Berthaud area.
