Lieu de parachutage - Seconde Guerre mondiale

Since 2011, the Voluntary Resistance Fighters (CVR) of Saône-et-Loire have been working on a project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War to pay tribute to the men and women who took great risks to continue the fight against the enemy.

The Puley parachute drop took place on the night of 4 to 5 March 1944 and was intended for the local Resistance. The coded message from Radio London was "The herons are on the office cupboard".
The totem pole was inaugurated on 15 June 2013.
