This part of the river has many locks, whether you head north or south, but you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the surroundings. Clamecy is a very pretty town, and is only 4 hours sailing time from the large lake of Baye (11.5 hours in total), which is full of impressive flora and fauna and ideal for a refreshing dip. We also recommend taking a taxi - 23 minutes from Tannay - to the hilltop village of Vézelay, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Basilica of St Mary Magdalene.
