Claude Tillier à Clamecy
Claude Tillier was born in Clamecy in 1801 and died in Nevers in 1844. He was an acerbic pamphleteer under Louis-Philippe, a journalist but also a novelist. We owe him a very Clamecy work, Mon Oncle Benjamin. From this novel, Edouard Molinaro made a film in 1969, in which Jacques Brel gave an unforgettable interpretation of the hero, Benjamin Rathery.
