Château de Pignol

Built in the 16th century, the present castle replaced an ancient stronghold from the 12th or 13th century which commanded the Yonne valley. This castle has been handed down from generation to generation without leaving the de Bèze family. The last of the name, Marie Herminie de Bèze, who married Gabriel de Fontenay in 1855, is the great grandmother of the present owner.
