Situated at the foot of the Gros Moux hill in an area of springs that once fed the moat, it is a quadrilateral building flanked by large round towers pierced by loopholes and covered with coloured pepperpot roofs. Founded in the 12th century and largely rebuilt in the 17th century, it has a main building with a polychrome facade of the Italian Renaissance type. The Louis XIV dining room, paved with ceramics and furnished in the Henri II style, has an extraordinary French ceiling decorated with garlands of flowers and portraits of the various owners of the castle. In the Louis XV salon, the panelling is period and the ceiling decorated with coloured stucco.
