Dating from the 14th century, the church of Saint-Laurent de Manlay is astonishing because of its architecture: it is said to be a fortified church. Its keep with walls about 1.80m thick houses the choir of the church.
In the summer of 1944, the village and the church were burnt down by the German army in retaliation for the actions of the resistance fighters on the Montagne de Bard. The damage to the church was repaired after fundraising in Germany in the 1960s.
