Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Pierre de Bèze (classified I.S.M.H.)
Founded in 630, the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Pierre de Bèze is one of the oldest in Burgundy: it was in fact the fourth of the Merovingian abbeys in the diocese of Langres (after Moutiers-Saint-Jean, Saint-Bénigne and Saint-Seine).
Its surviving buildings, which date mainly from the 18th century - with the exception of the remains of a 12th century chapel - are witnesses to a history that spans more than a thousand years, from the beginning of the 7th century until the French Revolution, when it was sold as national property.
