Fontenay-Vézelay Hiking Route
Set off on the GR® 213 for a spiritual, meditative and revitalising adventure over several days. This ancient route is a part of the Way of St. James and both the departure and arrival points are significant places in Burgundy's religious heritage: "the eternal hill" in Vézelay and Fontenay Abbey. You don't need to be a believer or regular churchgoer to appreciate the enchanting atmosphere here. And between these two places, you can expect a great trail across the countryside, through villages, along the canal, over fields and pastures.

An itinerary from one treasure of monastic heritage to another
This long hiking route over several days is between two treasures of Burgundian heritage that are both listed as World Heritage sites by UNESCO:
- Fontenay Abbey, beautifully preserved and evidence of how Cistercian monks once lived,
- Vézelay Hill, significant place for pilgrims, with the Sainte Marie-Madeleine Basilica at the top, an impressive bright, stone monument.
