Salle d'Eckmühl
Located in the former palace of the Counts of Auxerre, the Salle d'Eckmühl has preserved its 19th-century decor: wood panelling, painted canvas ceiling and furniture. The collections on display were bequeathed to the town of Auxerre in 1877 by Louise Adélaïde de Blocqueville, the last daughter of Marshal Davout. During your visit, you will discover a rich collection, with some exceptional items: a ceremonial dress worn by Marshal Davout at the wedding of Napoleon I and Marie-Louise in 1810, the ceremonial coat worn by Marshal Davout at the coronation of Napoleon I in 1804, a Jacob Desmalter console from the Hôtel d'Eckmühl and a library containing 2,500 books.
