Musée de la Résistance en Morvan à Saint-Brisson
Inaugurated on 26 June 1983 by François Mitterrand, the museum is the work of historians and former resistance fighters. It has been completely renovated and modernised for the 2023 season.
Located within the Maison du Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan, the fully renovated museum allows visitors to understand the role and importance of the Resistance in the region during the Second World War. Thanks to its large collection, the museum offers a close-up view of history. Numerous objects, archive documents, equipment, photographs, weapons, etc. are presented in three rooms: Occupation, Resistance, Liberation and Memory.
Halfway through the museum, a projection area immerses the visitor in the daily life of the maquis: actions, encampment, role of the leader, hunger, fear, courage.... This is an essential step before setting out on the trail of this period in the Morvan.
