Inaugurated on 26 June 1983 by François Mitterrand, the museum is the work of historians and former members of the Resistance. It has been completely renovated and modernised for the 2023 season.
Located within the Maison du Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan, the fully renovated museum provides an insight into the role and importance of the Resistance in the region during the Second World War.
Thanks to its extensive collection, the museum offers a close-up view of history. Numerous objects, archive documents, equipment, photographs and weapons are on display in three rooms: Occupation, Resistance, Liberation and Remembrance.
Halfway through the museum, a projection area immerses visitors in the daily life of the maquis: actions, encampments, the role of the leader, hunger, fear, courage...
It's an essential step before setting off on the trail of this period in the Morvan.
