Musée de la Marine Fluviale (Centre du Toueur)
Located in the former "maison cantonnière" at the zero marker of the Canal du Nivernais, the Musée de la Marine Fluviale welcomes you.
Discover the Toueur Ampère V dating from 1933, which towed barges from the Canal du Nivernais to the Canal latéral à la Loire, crossing the Loire over 2 Kilometers. Five films on the history of inland navigation, the Loire, the Canal du Nivernais and this tugboat are shown. This projection is completed by an animated model on which the different waterways appear. Every year a temporary exhibition is proposed to you
Outside the Centre, a belvedere and its reading table offer you an exceptional view of the Saint Léger des Vignes dam, the town of Decize and above all the Confluence of the rivers. In this place, the Canal du Nivernais, the Aron, the Vieille Loire, the Loire and the Canal latéral à la Loire come together.
A path with interpretation panels can lead you to the Port Saint Thibault. The Musée de la Marine Fluviale is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
