The River Semence, which rises on the edge of the commune, flows through these lush green valleys, where many famous Charolais cattle graze in complete tranquillity. An ideal place to recharge your batteries in complete tranquillity, come and take one of the many footpaths that criss-cross the meadows and undergrowth, leading you from one pond to another and past several calvaries. The birthplace of Sainte Marguerite Marie Alacoque: the Blessed Virgin's 17th-century bedroom, with its period paintings on the ceiling, has now been converted into a chapel and is open to visitors. Château du Terreau: built in the 13th century and renovated in the 18th century, it has undergone numerous alterations but has retained some of its original architecture, which was that of a fortified castle. Ruins of the Prieuré: all that remains of this 17th-century priory in Drompvent are the choir and nave.
