Around Brandon

Saint-Pierre-de-Varennes, a commune to the north-east of Le Creusot, covers more than 2,300 hectares and is home to a number of small hamlets. The Château de Brandon, on the hill, and its pond are worth discovering on this loop, where you'll pass through soothing countryside dotted with pretty seasonal colours. The luckiest visitors will be lucky enough to spot a grey heron on the banks of the pond. Don't miss the pretty hamlet of Les Charbottins, at the end of the pond.
