And all around flows the river!
Like an island between two arms of the river Nièvre, which gave its name to the department, the Prés de Coulanges site reveals the fauna, flora, herbaceous and wooded areas typical of wetlands.
Formerly overgrown grassland, the Prés de Coulanges site has been acquired and restored by the local council to regain its natural character and ecological role: retaining water like a sponge. Very useful in times of drought!
Illustrated with various educational displays and accompanied by the red frog, the site's mascot, the route takes you between the stilts and the nature trail: a guaranteed change of atmosphere!
There's plenty to discover on the outskirts of the Nevers conurbation, on a 1.6 km main pedestrian loop, with an intermediate loop halfway along the way.
