Cycle to this historic stopover on the pilgrimage to Compostela, where the famous Notre Dame de la Charité Priory has stood since the 11th century. In the Middle Ages, the charity of the monks who welcomed pilgrims here gave the name to the town on the Loire, which continues this tradition today by providing accommodation for itinerants near the priory site.
From Varzy to La Charité-sur-Loire, you can enjoy the rolling, pastoral landscapes of the Nièvre, passing through the peaceful Bertranges forest.
