The Yonne is a river that rises in Glux-en-Glenne but is only navigable from the town of Auxerre to Montereau-Fault-Yonne over a distance of 108km. This navigable stretch passes through 26 locks and numerous sites and places of interest to visit.
Before starting your journey, you can visit and admire the town of Auxerre and its rich heritage, including the Abbey and Museum of Saint-Germain d'Auxerre and the Tour de l'Horloge, as well as green spaces such as the Île aux Plaisirs and others.
In Monéteau, stop off to relax in the Parc des Peupliers and enjoy a drink on the terrace or inside one of the town's regional restaurants.
Along the way, you'll have the chance to observe the confluence of the Yonne and Armançon rivers at Migennes, where the end of one course contributes to the strengthening of another.
Then in Joigny you can visit the Saint-Jean de Joigny church, an architectural gem, or discover the various exhibitions at the Espace Culturel Jean de Joigny.
In the distance, you can see the Château du Feÿ, and pass under the Vanne and Yonne aqueducts. In Sens, stop off to discover the wonders of this city, such as the Cathédrale Saint-Etienne de Sens.
Finish your Yonne expedition in Montereau-Fault-Yonne, where you'll discover its enchanting and lively park: the Parc des Noues, as well as the imperceptible end of the Yonne, which joins the Seine to form a single river.
