The southern route takes you to Ternant, a charming village whose church has two 15th-century altarpieces on display. The village of La Nocle-Maulaix will charm you with its "guinguette" on the banks of the "Moulin du Marnant" pond and its leisure area with supervised swimming in summer. Continue towards Saint-Hilaire-Fontaine via Thareau along the banks of the Loire to Charrin - you're in the heart of the Loire bourguignonne nature reserve! Your last few pedal strokes will take you to Verneuil, where you join the Canal du Nivernais as far as Cercy-la-Tour.
You can shorten this route via Fours and admire the Grande Halle des Maîtres Verriers...
The return journey to Luzy takes just 18 minutes by train!
