At this time of year, there's nothing better than a short run in the fresh air...
In the south of Burgundy, between Iguerande and Bourbon-Lancy, the Voie Verte is the ideal place for sporting outings with the family, alone or with friends. In the autumn, while walking along the banks of the Loire, you can see many birds!
Head west of Saône-et-Loire, from Cronat to Iguerande, for a 140km escape along the meandering Loire. Saddle up for a peaceful rural getaway as close as possible to the river, on a section of EuroVelo 6, largely on Voies Vertes. From Bourbon-Lancy, you can cruise along Europe's last wild river. Pamper yourself at the Espace Celtô spa and stroll through the town and its medieval quarter. Take the véloroute through the bocage countryside, in the pastoral kingdom of the white Charolais cows, or opt for the bucolic side of the canals from Diou and ride the Voie Verte de l'Allier along the Canal Latéral à la Loire. In Digoin, let go of the handlebars for a stopover at the Observaloire. Then on to Paray-le-Monial and its Sacré-Coeur basilica, one of the jewels of Romanesque architecture. The journey now continues on the Véloire to Montrond-les-Bains. The Brionnais route winds its way through lush countryside, skirting Romanesque jewels. Say hello to the dragonflies in the marshes of Montceaux-l'Etoile, a protected sensitive area. In Marcigny, take the time to visit the Tour du Moulin and then continue on to Iguerande. The journey then continues into the neighbouring Loire department.
Download the Voie Verte 71 app and let it guide you! You'll receive an alert as soon as you're close to a point of interest. Discover the Loire from Cronat to Iguerande in 26 stages.
