Chardonnay, often referred to as the 'king of white grapes', produces wines that are world-renowned for their richness, complexity and elegance. Although it has travelled the world, successfully establishing itself in many wine-growing regions across the globe, it is here in the village of Chardonnay that it originated. From the village, set off on a 30km bike ride through the heart of this emblematic wine-growing region of the Mâconnais, winding your way through the hillsides and plateaux planted with Chardonnay, of course, just like the vast majority of Burgundy's white wines. Don't hesitate to drop in on the many winegrowers along the way for some tastings along the way.
