From Chalon-sur-Saône, set off on one of Burgundy's most famous routes: the Voie verte de Bourgogne du Sud.
Following the route of a former railway line, you'll stroll through the heart of the Châlonnais coast to reach wine-growing villages, châteaux, Romanesque churches and a host of little treasures that will never cease to delight you.
Cluny, a marvel of Cistercian Burgundy, and its remains will fill you with wonder like never before. Beyond Cluny, the route is just as beautiful, and you'll even pass under the hill through the Bois Clair tunnel!
Things to see on your way:
- The majestic vineyards of the Côte Châlonnaise, where quality wines are made.
- One of the first greenways of its kind to be built in France in the late 1990s.
- Romanesque art in southern Burgundy, which developed in the 11th and 12th centuries and can be seen in Cluny and Tournus thanks to their abbeys.
