The route starts in the courtyard of the town hall (there is a large car park).
(D/A) As you leave the courtyard, turn left and walk down the Rue Saint-Blaise. Cross the first bridge, then the second and continue, leaving the church on your left. At the crossroads (Rue de Lestrade), turn right, leaving the chapel¹ on the left, and continue until you reach the first path on the right. Follow it past the service entrance to the colony, leaving behind the side paths and joining a tarmac road.
(1) Go down to the right (dead end sign). Cross the Branlin by ford or footbridge. When you reach the D7, cross carefully and go straight on for a good hundred metres.
(2) Take the small path on the left, hidden under an arbour formed by the 2 side bouchures, which leads to a cross path. Turn left, go down to the first houses and come back to the D7.
(3) Carefully cross the D7 and continue straight ahead on the track with a few houses on the left. In front of the farm building, the path turns 90° and again passes through shady areas. A new footbridge crosses the Branlin.
(4) At the top of the path, turn right onto the tarmac lane and leave it by bending left onto a rising path. Keep to this main path. On the left, a window opens with a view of the hills, the water tower and a satellite dish. You will come to a farmhouse and a tarmac lane.
(5) Turn left onto this road. Carry on along the road, which leads to the water tower and base station. Leave the side paths and walk past the only house in Les Jaluzots.
(6) Go straight on to reach Les François. At the stop sign, cross the D22 and go almost straight ahead. Go straight ahead, passing the first track on the right and another immediately after on the left.
(7) At the road, turn right. In the basin, pass over the discreet Pont Patrimonial, which you can discover by descending carefully to the right. Follow the road through the hamlet of Les Mussots.
(8) Take the Chemin des Boulats on the left. The semi-tarmac road ends at the only dwelling. When you reach a cross-country track, turn left and go downhill until you reach an open area. Continue for a few dozen metres.
(9) Turn left along the hedge. Climb this path, reaching the undergrowth and then a forest track. Continue straight ahead until you reach the D160 road, which you should take on the left, keeping to the left-hand shoulder.
(10) Just before Beauregard farm, turn left onto a fairly inconspicuous track. Le Ferrier de la Garenne is now underfoot. After skirting the field, turn left at a bend in the road (this first track on the IGN map no longer exists) and continue to the left (there are some old rails in storage on the right).
(11) At the crossroads, take the path opposite, passing a picnic area on your right. Then keep to the left of the main path.
(12) You will come to a clearing with a few picnic tables opposite, a forge and a replica of a low furnace installed by the Ferrier de Tannerre association. Do not go any further (except for a more in-depth visit). Turn right towards Le Puits. Walk past the old well on your right, and continue slightly to the left.
(13) At the signposted "Centre ville" crossroads, head back down to the village along the field fence. Pass under the portico indicating one of the entrances to this site.
When you reach Rue Carreau, turn left. In front of the Église Saint-Martin, turn right, cross the two bridges and arrive in the courtyard of the town hall (D/A).
