A country circuit, serving the hamlets of La Chapelle Saint
André, and takes in 2 beautiful wash-houses, one on the banks of the Sauzay river
in the village, the other on a hillock.
Worth seeing:
At the start of the walk, the magnificent wash-house where the Sauzay flows, which
used to be used to float logs, aided by the release of water from the Oudan
Oudan, Buzy and Corbelins reservoirs.
The fountain on the Place de la Mairie, set against a buttress of the church, is supplied
by gravity from the Vernet spring.
La Chapelle St André was also once a major metallurgical site, employing up to
employed up to 250 people and ceased trading in 1863.
