This 23-kilometre loop will take you through the town of Semur-en-Auxois and its surroundings. First, visit the charming medieval town, with its red roofs, half-timbered houses and cobbled streets. The wash house and the ramparts are also worth seeing. Don't hesitate to enter the Collégiale Notre-Dame, an astonishing gothic church, and contemplate the tympanum, the chapels or the stained glass windows. The Tour de l'Orle d'Or can also be visited.
This is one of the four towers of the keep and was the main entrance to the medieval town. After your walk through Semur-en-Auxois, head towards Pont-et-Massène, to the Lac de Pont, a reservoir on the Burgundy canal, where you can take a swim. Then pedal towards Marigny-le-Cahouët, where you will find the canal again. Here you will find a 12th century castle which was used as a setting for the film "Angelique marquise des anges".
