The Boucle des Maillys, a departmental property, is a unique site in the Côte-d'Or. Located in the heart of the Saône Valley, this river loop is intended to preserve water resources, as it is home to one of the last untapped water tables in the department. With its hedgerows, copses and meadows, the loop is also an ideal site for birdwatching throughout the year.
This trail invites you to discover the landscapes and biodiversity of the Val de Saône.
In winter you can observe the Great Egret and the Grey Heron in the flooded meadows. When the weather is fine, you can see the Common Sparrow, the Skylark or even rarer species such as the Meadowlark or the Curlew.
For botanical enthusiasts, some interesting plant species can be observed on your route. These include the Fritillary (do not pick!), which can be seen in March.
