Greenway and Burgundy vineyards
Day 1: Mâcon
Arrival in Mâcon.
Free visit of the city. The foundation of ancient Mâcon dates back to the 2nd century BC. Very quickly, the city became a crossroads of communication. As a border town between the Kingdom of France and the Holy Germanic Empire between 843 and 1600, Mâcon prospered thanks to the customs duties introduced. In 1790, Mâcon became the capital of the department of Saône-et-Loire and saw the birth of one of its most famous children: Alphonse de Lamartine. An active centre of the Resistance during the Second World War, Mâcon was the first town in the free zone between Paris and Lyon.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Mâcon - Cluny 35 km.
This route, dominated by the Solutré rocks and Vergisson, a major prehistoric site, will take you to Milly-Lamartine, the childhood village of the famous writer, Berzé-le-Châtel and especially Cluny. Free discovery of the Benedictine abbey of Cluny, which extended its influence throughout Europe in the Middle Ages. Its abbey church was the largest in Western Christendom before the construction of St Peter's in Rome.

Day 3: Cluny - Cluny 60 km

Day 4: Cluny - Malay 40 km

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Givry - Chalon - Tournus 40 km
You will leave the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise to ride along the Saône. This route follows an unofficial temporary cycle route of the "blue way" along the small flat roads of the alluvial plain of the Chalonnais region.

Day 7: Tournus - Mâcon 33 km.
Along the Voie Bleue, this stage will be placed under the sign of the river navigation which has animated the Saône since the dawn of time. An easy and pleasant stage with many places to picnic and the rhythm of the river. Swans and cormorants frolic in the river, grazing cows come to drink close to the banks, cruise ships catch the eye when the waves crash on the banks.
