The Lambert house
La maison Lambert is an old house that has retained all the charm of yesteryear, but with all the modern comforts. Completely renovated, it offers 80m2 inside and 200m2 outside. Each bedroom has two beds, a wardrobe or hanging space, a desk or dressing table and, in the case of the two larger bedrooms, a large comfortable armchair.
The furniture is antique, waxed as it was in days gone by, or has been given a makeover. It has all the charm of a grandmother's house, with each room decorated in a different way: shells and lace in the living room, an almost exotic atmosphere in the large bedroom with its four-poster bed, a romantic atmosphere with children's chromos and a chandelier with pendants in the second bedroom, and a much more modern style in the small twin bedroom with its contemporary mosaics.
Facing south, the house opens onto a vast courtyard garden with pergola, tables and garden furniture. You can also sit in the shade of the lime tree. Beyond, the landscape is that of a verdant orchard, ideal for a quiet, relaxing country setting.
The owners are well versed in the history of this house (which dates back to the 18th century) and the surrounding hamlet, and can tell you a great deal about the village's wine-growing past and the workings of the old farming communities. For those who wish, they can suggest walks and visits in the surrounding area or further afield: signposted or unmarked footpaths, cycle routes, historical visits, local sights: Paray le Monial, the Romanesque churches of the Brionnais, Cluny, Moulins, Vichy, Autun, the PAL leisure park, etc.
They will also be happy to share their favourites and their good addresses.
